Adobe Acrobat exploit

Several exploits which target vulnerabilities in Adobe Acrobat have recently come to light. Now there are reports of users being infected via these exploits. Infection is achieved by simply loading a PDF document which is specifically designed to take advantage of these vulnerabilities.
Acrobat versions 8.1.1 and older are known to be affected. Adobe have described their recent product update (8.1.2) as having security fixes which are of a critical severity.
The United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team (US-CERT) has issued this alert.
In order to protect your systems, you should ensure that all installations of Adobe Reader and Acrobat are updated to version 8.1.2. Please read the advisory from Adobe for more information.
