Components

M86 MailMarshal SPE includes several software components that can be installed on different computers in your network, as well as in a variety of configurations to meet specific deployment requirements.

The following figure shows these components on separate computers. At a minimum, you can install the components on a single computer and run the M86 MailMarshal SPE SQL Server on a separate machine.

M86 MailMarshal SPE Components:

Administration Web Console
This Web-based console allows service provider administrators to manage and monitor customer information, configure system-wide policies and control global M86 MailMarshal settings.

Web Console Server
The control server provides website services for the Web Console. The Web Console must be installed on a server with Microsoft IIS 6.0 or above installed, including the Active Server Pages component.

Customer Web Console and SQM
This Web-based console allows customer administrators to define organization users and email policy (rules) and configure additional email gateway settings. The Spam Quarantine Management (SQM) Web application allows customer users to self-manage quarantined messages.

Customer Console Server
This provides website services for the Customer Web Console and SQM application. The Web Console must be installed on a server with Microsoft IIS 6.0 or above installed, including the Active Server Pages component.

Reporting Server
This is used to prepare pre-existing scheduled reports and then emails selected reports to administrators and end users.

SPE SQL Server
This stores data and configuration information for M86 MailMarshal SPE.
