MailMarshal as a Service (MaaS) is now available to MailMarshal SEG and MailMarshal ECM customers as part of a hybrid solution. MaaS offers managed anti-spam, anti-virus, content filtering and image analysis services that complement the security of existing MailMarshal server(s).

MailMarshal customers tell us that they value the flexibility and powerful features that MailMarshal SEG and MailMarshal ECM provide. Increasingly, they have been asking for the same functionality to be offered as a service, so they can dedicate their resources to critical tasks, such as implementing and monitoring policies for archiving, encryption and data leakage prevention. MaaS in a hybrid model enables organizations to retain security and control over email with a MailMarshal server(s), but offload time-intensive tasks, such as spam management, to MaaS. Deploying MaaS in a hybrid environment also means that elimination of spam, viruses, blended threats and other unwanted, non-business/compromising email occurs in the cloud—before it reaches an organization—saving bandwidth, costs, resources, processing time and administration.

How MaaS Works

MaaS takes only minutes to enable. A simple redirection of your MailExchanger record (MX record) is all that is required to enable the service. Once enabled, MaaS acts as an Internet-based email filter for your organization ("in the cloud"), removing unwanted email and only delivering legitimate email to your email server or mailboxes. Secure Web-based access is provided to your own email management console and reports. You can define and schedule regular reports for automatic delivery to any email address. MaaS offers carrier-grade datacenter infrastructure hosted on the latest hardware with 24/7/365 monitoring by expert technicians. The service is backed by all-hours telephone and Internet support.
