The Srizbi botnet, which is currently the most active spamming botnet, has lately been sending spam with more personalized subject lines. All of these emails contain a link to an .exe file that when run will install the Srizbi bot. Some of the latest subject lines are:
Hugest Ass!
You look stupid in this video [name] see yourself
We caught you naked [name]!
You’re a moron [name]
[name]’s naked ass
As well as all these emalis with links to .exe files, Srizbi also pumps out a huge volume of more traditional spam such as those promoting replica and pharmaceutical products.
We have also seen the Srizbi bot being spread via web exploits targeting browsers and plugins. Srizbi is extremely stealthy and victims may be totally unaware that this bot is installed on their computer and sending thousands of spam messages a day.
