Free Editions

  • SQL Express (2005, 2008, 2008 R2, 2012) does not have a limit on database operations or connections, but it does have a limit on database size.

Note: For information on database sizing, see Trustwave Knowledgebase article Q10829

Licensed Editions

SQL Server is available in a number of editions, with either per-processor or CAL based licensing models. Customers who deploy web based interfaces such as the Spam Quarantine Management console and Marshal Reporting Console should be aware of Microsoft policies about websites and CAL based licensing.
